Because “I supervised a team” is a claim, and “the rota I introduced cut overtime by a fifth over six months” is evidence of competence. Assessors are trained to look for the second kind, and the difference is usually one sentence you already know.
Anything a third party can look at and date: an employer statement, a job description, a rota, a procedure you wrote, minutes, a report, a document you produced. A memory is not evidence, however true.
Because the same activity cannot demonstrate two different competencies unless you reframe it, and using one document everywhere is the fastest way to look thin. We compare your rows and say so.
